This is a series of classes especially for beginning students or students wanting to learn and review the basic principles of yoga poses. These classes will introduce students to the principles of the postures and build a foundation of understanding for a continuing practice.
- Level
1 - Developing Your Practice: Continuing practice and understanding of the standing poses and introduction of inversions (headstand, shoulderstand, etc).
- Level
2 - Refining Your Practice: Linking basic principles learned to more intermediate poses. Classes include inversions, floor poses, and backbends. Classes at this level and above require that you have the permission of the instructor to attend.
- Level
3 - Advancing Your Practice: Classes for students with an established personal practice.
- Gentle Yoga:
Do you have tight hips or shoulders? Have you had an injury that you think prevents you from practicing yoga? This class is specially designed for students who want access to the benefits of yoga practice, but need a more gentle approach. Chairs, blocks, bolsters, blankets and straps will be used to modify the poses to meet the special needs of each student. This class is open to seniors, people returning from injuries, inflexible students, and anyone seeking a slower introduction to yoga practice.

This class is specifically designed to support physical and mental well-being during pregnancy and in preparation for labor. Simple asanas will be taught to aid proper digestion, circulation and breathing during pregnancy and increase sensitivity to the baby and its growth. Props will be used to ensure space for the baby and make the poses comfortable for the mother. The class is open to women who have finished the first trimester or have permission of the instructor. Women are encouraged to start prenatal yoga as early as possible in their second trimester (or first with instructor's permission).
- Restorative:
Designated classes each month (see asterisks on class
schedule).
Focuses entirely on restorative poses (relaxation) and pranayama (breathing).
